The host gift people talk about.

Instead of flowers or the usual bottle of wine: an aperitif you open together before dinner. One bottle of ODE makes around ten drinks.

The options

  • One bottle – €22.90: Bright Lemon (fresh, lemony) or Ruby Wood (bitter orange, wood).
  • Mini duo – €19.80: two times 100 ml, when it should be something small.
  • Twin Bundle + Box – €50: both varieties, in a gift box.

Twin Bundle + Box – €50

Tip

ODE belongs cold, on ice. If you bring it, leave it in your host's fridge and serve it straight away: ice, 2 parts tonic, 1 part ODE.

What should you bring to a dinner invitation?

Wine, flowers or chocolates are the classics. Even better is something that doesn't have to go straight on the table: a small gift for later that shows you put some thought into it.

Our suggestion: ODE. An aperitif made with Riesling from Berlin, looks good on any table and makes around 10 drinks per bottle. As a Twin Box with Bright Lemon and Ruby Wood, it already comes in a gift box.

What is a typical German host gift?

Wine (above all Riesling), flowers, chocolates or something homemade. For a housewarming, the tradition is bread and salt.

Typically German and still new: ODE, an aperitif made with Riesling from Rheinhessen, made in Berlin. Up to 60% less sugar than well-known aperitifs, no artificial flavours or colours.

Which drinks make a good welcome drink for guests?

The best welcome drinks are light, quick to make and liked by everyone: sparkling wine, a spritz or an aperitif with tonic. And always an alcohol-free option alongside.

Our welcome drink: ice, 2 parts tonic, 1 part ODE. Around 6% ABV in the glass, ready in ten seconds, one bottle serves around 10 guests. From 13 November the same recipe works alcohol-free with Pink Grapefruit.

How can you surprise guests with a drink?

With something they don't know yet. A house drink or a small mix-your-own aperitif bar gets people talking straight away.

Not everyone knows ODE yet: the bottle with the wooden ball stands out, and the taste surprises because it isn't sweet. Bright Lemon fresh and citrusy, Ruby Wood bold, fruity, bitter.
